Marcela’s Frijoles
Sonoran style frijoles refritos
Ingredients
- 2 cups of cooked pinto beans (salted)
- 2 tbsp of powdered california chile
- 2 tbsp of lard or tallow
- 1 slice of yellow American cheese
- 1/4 cup of chihuahua cheese
- 1 tbsp of jalapeño vinegar juice
Instructions
- Blend pinto beans.
- Add lard or tallow to a hot pan.
- Add powdered california chile to the pan to fry just enough for it to bubble. Do not let it bubble too much because it can burn and taste bitter.
- Incorporate beans to fried chile and mix until beans start to bubble.
- Add all cheese and jalapeño juice, mix until cheese melts and is well incorporated.
